All went well, we actually had fun in Springs.
We ate at Grandson's favorite fast food "McDonald's" (yuck), Burger King (yuck), I told him I want to eat at a real restaurant (that wasn't feasible to a five year old).
We went swimming. Grandson found out about the 'hot tub (sauna), the 'exercise room' and not to touch things.. The BIG towels they had for swimmers... he remembered that.. he said "Grandpa wiped me down with those big towels."
He got to play, took control of the remote controls, ran around to his hearts content at certain stops we made. During the road constructions he got to mosey around until it was time to go. We talked about a lot of things, and he asked so many questions I didn't remember my name.
Then we went house hunting, he behaved real nice and let us big people discuss certain things.. he would go pick a room he would like to have.. Acting like a 'grown up' he would test things here and there. Like his bathroom sink and toilet bowl to make sure it had good water pressure. He looked out the window for his play area.
The next day is was snowing, he said they were like 'bullets'. All the way back to southern Colorado was ok, until we tried to go over the pass.. well the first one we went "Whoopty Woo" and the second pass.. The car just wouldn't go, it just started to roll backwards, he said "Your car just doesn't want to work hard, Grandma. Maybe it wants something, or forgot something."
We spent the night in the nearest town. The phones didn't work well. Grandson had his own bedroom, it was adjacent to mine... I left the door open so he could see me, but he stayed in my room to watch tv and play. I even let him sleep in my bed until he started acting like me.. so I shooed him back to his bed.
The next day, Grandpa met us a few towns over and we were so happy. He loaded us up like puppies and took us home. His truck carried us like nothing, he went into scary places at a regular speed. Then he did his job along the way, while we waited. Then we were home. Oh, it was so great to be home. Grandson got a small cold..
Today, he is going custom shopping for Halloween.
